Workshop on Life Skills Education

The Bharata Mata School of Social Work hosted a three-day "Workshop on Life Skills Education" from August 29-31, 2024. The workshop was aimed at equipping participants with essential life skills to enhance their personal and professional development. A total of 31 first-year MSW students participated, engaging in an intensive learning experience designed to foster a wide range of competencies crucial for success in various life scenarios.
 
The workshop was led by Dr. S. Kumaravel, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work at RGNYID. With a strong academic background and extensive experience in the field, Dr. Kumaravel is well-regarded for his expertise in youth development and life skills education. He holds a Master of Social Work specializing in Youth Development, an M.Sc. in Counseling and Psychotherapy, a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), and a Diploma in the Commonwealth Youth Programme. His diverse qualifications underscore his comprehensive approach to training and mentoring students.

The primary objective of the workshop was to empower students by developing their life skills, which are critical for handling the challenges of everyday life. With his extensive experience, Dr. Kumaravel facilitated interactive sessions, providing valuable insights into developing and applying life skills in various contexts. His approach emphasized practical strategies, personal reflection, and active participation, ensuring that attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the core skills needed for effective personal and professional development.
