Our Master of social work students had the privilege of participating in the Heartian Women Health Summit 2026
July 25, 2026

Our Master of social work students had the privilege of participating in the Heartian Women Health Summit 2026 held at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, Kochi. The summit was organized by the Forum for the Empowerment of Women and Children (FEWAC), PRCI–Young Communicators Club (YCC), Sacred Heart College Chapter, and the college's Women's Club – Swasthi, in association with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Kochi, as part of the institution's Golden Jubilee celebrations of women's education.

The programme offered an enriching platform to explore critical and contemporary dimensions of women's health through a series of insightful academic sessions. The discussions emphasized the significance of women's health within the broader public health framework, recent advances in gynecologic oncology with a focus on cervical cancer prevention and precision care, the importance of self-compassion and mental well-being, and the growing role of technology, artificial intelligence, digital health, research, and preventive healthcare in transforming women's healthcare services. Together, these sessions highlighted the need for a holistic, interdisciplinary, and community-oriented approach to promoting women's health and well-being.

Participating in this summit was a valuable learning experience for our social work students, providing deeper insights into emerging healthcare challenges, preventive and promotive health approaches, and the importance of collaborative efforts across health and social sectors in advancing women's health.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers for creating such a meaningful platform for learning, dialogue, and professional development.
